In internal testing — join the early list

Your family's letters used to live in a shoebox.
Now they're in five accounts and a drawer of backup files.

EmailAttic gathers decades of email — old accounts, Google Takeout downloads, forgotten Outlook backups — removes every duplicate, and turns it all into one organized archive your family can actually read. Forever.

Runs entirely on your computer — nothing is uploaded, ever

Be first to try it

EmailAttic is in internal testing now. Leave your email and we'll tell you the moment it's ready — everyone who signs up before launch gets 25% off.

That email didn't look right — mind trying again?

No spam, no sharing your address — it's stored on our own server, nowhere else. One email when it launches, that's it.

Who it's for

Made for two kinds of people

For families

Preserve what matters

A parent's account, twenty years of correspondence, the emails from when the kids were small. EmailAttic turns it into a browsable family archive — sorted by person, readable without any special software, safe to hand down. No technical terms, no cloud account, no subscription.

For people with a drawer full of backups

Finally merge the mess

PST files from every computer you've ever owned. Backups of backups on an old NAS. Overlapping exports you're afraid to delete. EmailAttic reads them all, keeps every unique message, discards the duplicates — and gives you a report proving nothing was lost, so you can finally clear the drawer.

The process

How it works

1

Point it at everything

Folders, drives, Takeout zips, old backup files — EmailAttic scans them all and shows you what it found before touching anything. Your originals are never modified.

2

It merges and de-duplicates

Every unique message is kept once — sent and received together, attachments intact — even when the same mailbox was backed up a dozen times. Careful extraction recovers mail hiding in files that look redundant.

3

You get one organized archive

A clean folder structure sorted by person and account, in an open format that will still be readable in thirty years — plus instant search, and a report of exactly what came from where.

The story

Built by someone who needed it

736,312 messages.

EmailAttic began as a personal rescue mission: one family's email scattered across more than two hundred backup files on old drives and a home server. Merged and de-duplicated, the real archive was about half that — every message kept once, organized by person, nothing lost, with the receipts to prove it.

EmailAttic is that toolchain, rebuilt so anyone can do it in an afternoon.

Straight answers

Questions people actually ask

Is my email uploaded anywhere?

No. EmailAttic is a desktop app. Your mail never leaves your computer — there's no account, no cloud, and we couldn't read your email if we wanted to.

What if it can't read a file?

It tells you. Every run ends with a plain-English report: what was read, what was kept, what was a duplicate, and any file it couldn't open — so you never wonder whether something slipped through.

Will the archive still open in 30 years?

Yes. The archive is ordinary files in ordinary folders, in the standard format email has used since the beginning. It works even if EmailAttic is long gone.

Subscription?

No. Pay once, own it. Your family archive shouldn't have a monthly fee.

Bring it all down from the attic.
